About

From the blast hole to the boardroom

Trained as a mining engineer, he started out at the mine face in 1990, as a sales engineer with ICI India, now Orica, working on drilling and blasting at coal and non-coal mines. Over 17 years he set up bulk explosives plants and brought new blasting technology to mines across India.

From explosives he moved into the business of mining itself, winning contract-mining and MDO work for Brahmaputra Infrastructure and NCC. In 2013 he joined Adani Enterprises, where he went on to lead the commercial side of its coal mining across Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, and later its Centre of Excellence for coal mining.

He has seen every side of a mine: the blast, the bid, the clearance and the contract. That is the experience he now brings to the companies he works with.
